What is the FRCS Urology Part 2 viva?
Section 2 of the FRCS(Urol) is all vivas, with no patients. You sit across from two examiners at each station and get asked scenario based questions across the whole syllabus. The pass standard is a day one consultant in general urology, so it's not a knowledge quiz. It's a test of whether you'd be safe making the call on your own.

Scenarios cover uro-oncology, emergency urology, stones and infection, paediatric urology, BPH and andrology, and bladder dysfunction, written by urologists off the EAU and NICE guidelines.

Why I built it
You can read model answers all day and still freeze when someone asks you the question to your face. The only fix is saying it out loud, a lot. The Exam Room is the closest thing I've found to practising under a bit of pressure without needing a consultant free on a Tuesday night.
It doesn't replace practising with colleagues and consultants. Two examiners across a table feels different to a screen, so do both.

What is VivaSuite?

What happens in FRCS Urol Section 2?
For urology it's all vivas, there are no patients. You sit across from two examiners at each station and get asked scenario based clinical questions, at a host centre in the UK or Ireland. The pass standard is a day one consultant in the generality of urology.
When should I start viva practice?
Earlier than most people do. Don't wait for your Part 1 result. Use the Viva Bank to build your structure, then the Exam Room to practise saying it out loud, and practise with colleagues and consultants as well.
Are the Viva Bank and Exam Room bought separately?
Yes. The Viva Bank is a subscription, monthly or for 3 or 6 months. The Exam Room runs on credit packages.
Is the content AI-generated?
No. The scenarios and model answers are written by urologists. AI powers the examiner in the Exam Room, which asks the questions, follows up and assesses your answers.
Is VivaSuite useful for exams other than FRCS Urol?
Yes. The scenarios cover the same clinical urology tested in the FEBU Part 2 oral, FCPS TOACS, the MCh and DrNB practical, and the Arab Board oral. Each exam has its own page under Exams, starting with FRCS Urol.
